Grambling police, Louisiana State police, Ruston police and Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office are searching for an unidentified suspect who fired into a vehicle after an argument in Grambling.

The suspect reportedly followed the victim after they had a verbal argument and shot into the victim's vehicle. No injuries were reported and a description of the suspect was not available.

The suspect fled toward Ruston, lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree. The suspect fled into a wooded area where authorities searched throughout the day.

State Police Trooper Michael Reichardt said state police assisted with a helicopter in the search for the suspect, but landed the aircraft after noon.

Louisiana Tech University alerted students this morning of the situation since the suspect headed toward Ruston and near campus.

Tech spokesman Dave Guerin said the campus was never in active lockdown as the search was conducted in a wooded area north of campus.
