BATON ROUGE – LSU football coach Les Miles visited an area hospital Monday morning after “feeling under the weather,” but was expected to be at a 4 p.m. practice, LSU athletic director Joe Alleva said.

Miles missed his Monday press conference scheduled for 12:30 p.m. in which he was going to discuss the Tigers’ season opening game against McNeese State Saturday night.

“Obviously, coach Miles is not here,” Alleva said, standing at the podium on the fifth floor of the athletic department administration building where Miles holds press conference every Monday afternoon before a game. “He was a little bit under the weather this morning in his office, and he didn’t feel very well.”

Miles then visited the trainers at the football facility where his office is.

“And the trainers thought it would be best for him to go to the hospital and get checked out on a precautionary basis,” Alleva said. “We feel like he is fine. He will be at practice today, and he will be available to talk to you after practice.”

Alleva said Miles drove himself to the hospital.
