The Washington Huskies enter the second year under Head Coach Chris Peterson and the Defense has a leader in Budda Baker. Last season, his first with the Huskies saw him a boy among men, but by the end of the season he was pretty close to level footing with his teammates.
Now, with a year of experience under his belt, Baker will look to come out of the gate strong against Boise State in Friday night. Baker spoke with GoHuskies.com about his offseason work, “This year it’s just a whole new experience. We know what we’re getting into and I feel like it’s going to be a lot easier getting all the play calls down, understanding what the offense is trying to do to us.” Washington will also have a new face at Quarterback in likely Starter Jake Browning.
Browning will also have a young corps around him with two Sophomore Wide Receivers in Dante Pettis and Brayden Lenius. Washington is team that will have to grow together in 2015 with plenty of young talent. Will they challenge Oregon or USC in the Pac-12? That story is about to be told.

Non-Conference Thoughts: Chris Peterson starts this season returning to the program he built in Boise which is the lone tough non-conference game. Home games against Sacramento and Utah State should be nice games before opening conference play.
Conference Schedule: The schedule makers weren’t kind to those in Seattle with front loaded conference slate. We’ll learn a lot during the three game stretch which they go to USC, face Oregon and travel to Stanford. Their last four games are two tough games before closing with easier ones on paper.
Outlook: 5-7, I think this will be close to their record but I can see them having a chance to go bowling if a couple things shake their way.
Washington opens the 2015 season at Boise State on Friday night.
