Conor O'Shea praises new Harlequins captain Danny Care

Quins director of rugby Conor O'Shea claims that new captain Danny Care "epitomises" the style of rugby that the team plays.

Harlequins director of rugby Conor O'Shea has claimed that new captain Danny Care "epitomises" the club's style of rugby.

The England international scrum-half will lead Quins next season after being named skipper at Twickenham Stoop.

Care, 28, has made over 180 appearances for the team since 2006.

"We are lucky to have a number of players who are natural leaders but in Danny we have a player who, to me, epitomises how we play and what we are known for as a team," O'Shea told the club's official website.

"In making him captain we are making a statement as to how we intend to play and challenge for the title again. I have watched Danny grow from a boy to a man, learning lessons along the way and he is now ready to take all that learning and apply it in a leadership role."

Harlequins start the new Aviva Premiership season at home to Wasps on October 16.
