Oregon Football Recruiting: 2016 3-Star Quarterback Tylin Oden Visits Ducks

The Oregon Ducks have an overflow of talent at the Quarterback position, at least for 2015. Next year the battle will officially begin as Oregon will look for a leader for the future. This season it will likely be between Jeff Lockie and Transfer Vernon Adams, but the Ducks are looking toward the future and recently hosted three star Quarterback Tylin Oden. He called his recent visit to Oregon, “One of the Best Ever”

247Sports list Oden as a 3-star Quarterback at six foot five and one-hundred eighty pounds out of Columbia Tennessee. He is a Pro Style Quarterback and is rated as the twelfth best player out of the State of Tennessee. Rivals.com has him listed as the seventh best in the State.

Last season(2014) Tylin Oden showed off his skills both on the ground and through the air. He ran for thirteen touchdowns and passed for fifteen. Oden was also named a top performer in the 2015 Rivals Quarterback Challenge. Oden committed to Louisville on May 25th, but changed his mind on July 19th.

In watching the clip above, you can see the speed and footwork that will only improve as he gets closer to his college career. It is clear to me why the Ducks are interested in Oden. Keep in mind that Marcus Mariota came to Oregon as a three star recruit. He is now in the NFL and will look to lead the Tennessee Titans after three successful years at the helm leading Oregon.

Oden holds offers from several schools including Penn State, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Vanderbilt. Oregon is the only Pac-12 school to date to host and offer the three-star Quarterback.
