East Ouachita South All-Stars shut out South Carolina 4-0

The East Ouachita South All-Stars utilized a talented pitching tandem of local products Katie Cobb and Kat Lee to ice the Pee Dee South Carolina’s bats as the host team All-Stars cruised to a 4-0 opening round victory in the Dixie Debs Softball World Series held at the University of Louisiana at Monroe's Intramural Complex McDonald's Field.

Cobb pitched the first four shutout innings to pick up the win for the host team while Lee entered the game at the start of the fifth inning to close out the game’s final three frames.

With the win, East Ouachita South moved into the winner’s bracket and faced the All-Star team from Alto, Texas in the second round of the double elimination tournament late Sunday. The team from Alto, Texas defeated West Pasco, Florida 5-1 on Saturday to earn its spot in the winner’s bracket.
