ON THE TOWN

A time of change ... looking foward to fall

Clint Downing

Summertime is still upon us as the heat index continues to rise. Just as we look forward to the change of seasons, the times change as well. I am excited to be taking over as the social columnist for our area. For many years, I have read this very column.Victor Cascio thrived in this world and created many memories over the years as he wrote. He wrote a timeless column that celebrated the happenings in the Twin Cities and beyond.

He left a legacy behind that has been unmatched. As I take the new approach to this column, it will have the integrity and charm that he created with his stories. I welcome all readers to submit the events, gathers, and social happenings.

Our community is rich in many different areas and I want that to shine through with each edition. I am thrilled and honored to have been asked to join this column.

Victor would not want any more fanfare. So let's get to it. There is no better way to start this off than a top 10 list. I encourage you to mark your calendars for 10 of the big events taking place in Monroe/West Monroe over the coming months.
