2014 Lawsuit Against Oregon Head Coach Dana Altman Volunatarily Dismissed
The 2014 season for the Oregon Ducks Basketball team was one with a controversy, one that Head Coach Dana Altman would prefer to put behind him. On Friday that outcome became a bit easier when a lawsuit against him for an alleged assault was voluntarily dropped.. It stemmed from recruit and Providence Transfer Brandon Austin and that Altman knew that Austin was suspended for another sexual assualt accusation when he was recruited by the Oregon Ducks according to the Oregonian. The lawsuit against the University itself is still in place, but the case against Head Coach Dana Altman, was dropped.

Brandon Austin, Dominic Artis, and Damyean Dotson were dismissed from school for the alleged incident, which made national headlines at the time and put a black eye on the Oregon Basketball program. Since then the University and Community of Eugene had decided to move forward. Altman had calls for his resignation made last year before and during the season. Now that the case against him has been voluntarily dismissed by the accuser, both Dana Altman and the team can move forward to the upcoming season.
