Monroe police investigating shooting death

Monroe Police Detectives are investigating a shooting death that occurred at a residence in the 2200 block of Emerson.

The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on July 31. As of this time, it appears that a domestic encounter between father and son unfortunately ended with the son firing upon the father, causing injuries that led to his death.

At this time, police believe the son may have been in fear of his life, and detectives are working with the District Attorney's office going forward in this investigation.
