A 38-year-old women tried to set herself ablaze on the Chitradurga district court premises here on Friday owing to family dispute over property. The woman has been identified as Anjanamma, a resident of Chikjajur in Holalkere taluk here.
According to police sources, there was a property dispute between Anjanamma and her brother over a piece of property in Holalkere and the case was pending in the court for a long time. The woman had come to attend the court proceedings and was upset by the delay in sorting out the case.
Police intervene
The timely intervention of the police and the public averted the incident.
A case was registered in the town police station.
