Pac-12 Media Days: Oregon Ducks Helfrich Mum on Transfer Vernon Adams

The summer could have gone differently for Oregon Transfer Quarterback Vernon Adams. He could have fulfilled a math requirement and be set to be enrolled at the University of Oregon. He could have completed his coursework at Eastern Washington and been to camp on time, however that is not how it has gone. He is expected to join the Ducks three days into Fall Camp, but when it Pac-12 Media Days came and went this week, Adams was not only nowhere to be found, but no one from Oregon even mentioned his name when talking about the Quarterback position and who will take over following three successful years with Marcus Mariota, who was named the Starter for the Tennessee Titans earlier this week.

"I Have No Comment On ThatOregon Head Coach Mark Helfrich, His Response to Adams Not Being Able To Workout With Oregon This Summer"

While Oregon has a bevy of Quarterbacks on the roster, the most experienced is Jeff Lockie. Head Coach Mark Helfrich beamed with confidence when he spoke to the Register Guard on Friday about Lockie, “He knows our system better than anybody on the team. I have total confidence in Jeff, 100 percent. Our players do, too. That’s probably the more important part.” Oregon brought two players to represent the football team for Media Days, neither were named Jeff Lockie. Running Back Royce Freeman and Defensive Star Rodney Hardrick were there to talk football with the media.

The USC Trojans were picked to win the Pac-12 Conference, but Oregon was the pick to win the North Division. Fall Camp begins for the Oregon Ducks on August 15th, but the storyline for the season will just begin that day. August 18th is the day many have circled on their calendar, and for good reason.

The season begins on Saturday, September 5th against Eastern Washington at Autzen Stadium(5pm Pacific Time, Pac-12 Networks)
