Mid summer is typically a time when rookies in the National Football are getting ready for Fall Camp in preparation for the upcoming season. One former Oregon player will not be getting ready for 2015, but will sit out the year and hopefully be ready to go in 2016. Former Oregon Ducks Cornerback Ifo Ekpre-Olomu was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the 2015 NFL Draft and he will spend the season recovering from an ACL tear and a dislocated knee
. He suffered the injury before the Rose Bowl last season in preparing to face Florida State in the first round of the College Football Playoff.
Ifo Ekpre-Olomu had his share if injuries with the Oregon Ducks, but came out in his Senior year in 2014 with a bang picking up a key interception against Connor Cook and Michigan State leading to an Oregon win over the Spartans. In 2014 he was eighth in team tackles with sixty three and second in pass breakups with six. He also tallied two interceptions.
In four seasons with the Oregon Ducks, Ekpre-Olomu had two-hundred forty two tackles and nine interceptions. Cleveland took a chance on Ifo Ekpre-Olomu drafting him in the seventh round. The hope is he will be able to return to his former self in 2016 and be a participant on the field for the Cleveland Browns.
