Half of the Pac-12 is ranked in the preseason coaches poll, led by defending champion Oregon at No. 5.

The Ducks are followed by No. 10 USC, No. 14 UCLA, No. 16 Arizona State, No. 21 Stanford and No. 22 Arizona. Utah received 40 votes, which puts the Utes at No. 30. Washington received a lone 25th-place vote.

As expected, defending national champion Ohio State debuts in the top spot and received 62 of the 64 first-place votes. The Buckeyes are followed by No. 2 TCU, No. 3 Alabama and No. 4 Baylor.

The SEC, with eight ranked teams, is the only conference with more teams in the top-25 than the Pac-12.

The preseason AP poll will be released on Aug. 23.
