Kahlon presents ministers with Arrangements Bill

Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon provided cabinet ministers Thursday with his proposal for the Arrangements Bill, the powerful addendum to the 2015-2016 state budget.
The budget itself will be provided to ministers on Sunday. Its reforms will be presented to he socioeconomic cabinet Tuesday and the cabinet as a whole Wednesday.
The Arrangements Bill deals with the cost of living, the housing crisis, and promoting equality among sectors in society.
“The public expects big news in our economic policy that will enable Israelis to live in better welfare and general economic security,” a source close to Kahlon said. “To deal with crises, we must have policies that prevent extortion. Many of our reforms have been presented in the past, and now it is time to implement them and make the lives our citizens better.”

What will be presented to the ministers includes recommendations on how to tax gas revenue from drilling, reforms on imports of dry goods and plans to help families invest for the future of their children. Banks will be targeted with new reforms, and the healthcare system will be strengthened.
“Passing the budget will enable the Israeli economy to begin a new path of hope in which the weak will come first, and people will be helped until old age,” a source close to Kahlon said. “This is a budget that is responsible but also humane.”
