Former West Monroe High School golfer Alexis Belton and her teammate Sydney Martien won the Louisiana Women’s Golf Association’s 2015 Four Ball Championship this week at Koasati Pines at Coushatta in Kinder.

Belton graduated this spring from Texas Wesleyan and was selected to the 2015 All-American team, the first player in the three-year history of the program to earn the honor.

Belton became the first individual winner in program history last season when she won the Al Jones Memorial Classic at the University of Texas-Tyler. This year Belton became the first two-time winner in Texas Wesleyan women’s golf history by taking the Southern Arkansas tournament.

Belton graduated from Texas Wesleyan as the program’s record-holder in tournaments played (26), wins (two), top-five finishes (five) top-10 finishes (eight) and top-20 finishes (14).

Her father is Third District Attorney John Belton.
