Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, one of the leading contenders for the Republican presidential nomination, is scheduled to travel to Louisiana Saturday for a fundraiser.

He will be hosted at Squire Creek Country Club in Choudrant by long-time Bush family supporter James Davison, a Louisiana energy and trucking magnate.

Bush’s father, former President George H.W. Bush, and his brother, former President George W. Bush, have also visited Davison at Squire Creek.

“Forty-one (George H.W. Bush) is really one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met, and Jeb is a lot like him,” Davison said. “I think he’s the strongest contender in the Republican field and the most electable in the general election.”

Ironically, Bush will be raising money in Louisiana, home to current Gov. Bobby Jindal, who is also running for the Republican nomination.

Bush has been a frequent target of Jindal, who has said Bush is part of the “establishment” Republican Party that has conceded too many issues to Democrats.
