LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns volleyball team's schedule of matches for the 2015 season, the eighth season of head coach Heather Mazeitis-Fontenot's tenure, was released on Tuesday.

The 2015 schedule is highlighted by the program's annual tournament at Earl K. Long Gym, which is part of a 12-match ledger set at the facility.

This season's Sawyer Camillo Memorial Volleyball Classic is scheduled for Sept. 4-5 at Long Gym and features the Ragin' Cajuns, Houston, Jackson State and Nicholls State.

Louisiana will also compete in pre-conference tournaments at Texas Tech (Aug. 28-29) and Rice (Sept. 11-12).

Mid-week matchups are scheduled with four in-state schools and include a home date with Southern (Sept. 8) and road contests at Northwestern State (Sept. 1), Southeastern Louisiana (Sept. 29) and McNeese State (Oct. 20).

Overall, Louisiana is scheduled to compete in 13 non-conference matches and a 16-match Sun Belt Conference slate that opens Sept. 18 at UT Arlington.

Seeking to build upon the first 20-win season since 1990, the Ragin' Cajuns begin the 2015 season Aug. 28-29 in Lubbock, Texas, participating in the Texas Tech Invitational. The Cajuns open tournament play against Houston at 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 28 and also face Texas Tech (Aug. 28) and Utah State (Aug. 29).

A visit to Northwestern State on Sept. 1 precedes the Sawyer Camillo Memorial Volleyball Classic at Earl K. Long Gym (Sept. 4-5).

One week later, Louisiana plays in its final pre-conference tournament Sept. 11-12 meeting Colorado, host-Rice and Sam Houston State in Houston, Texas, at the Adidas Rice Invitational.

The Cajuns return to the state of Texas the following weekend (Sept. 18-20) to begin Sun Belt Conference play at UT Arlington (Sept. 18) and Texas State (Sept. 20).

The home portion of the SBC slate begins on Sept. 25 against in-state foe ULM.

After hosting Arkansas State (Oct. 2) and Appalachian State (Oct. 3) to start October, Louisiana plays six of the next eight Sun Belt matches on the road to finish the month.

The Cajuns will enjoy the comforts of home in November, playing all three SBC matches at Earl K. Long Gym to end the regular season. The homestand starts Nov. 6-7 with matches against UT Arlington and Texas State and concludes Nov. 13 against Georgia State.

The Sun Belt Conference Tournament is scheduled for Nov. 19-21 at Hanner Fieldhouse on the campus of Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Ga.

Louisiana returns 10 letterwinners and three starters, highlighted by last season's kills leader Sara Mossakowski (335 kills, 2.60 kps) and top frontline defender Chanelle Gardner (106 blocks, 0.84 bps).

The Ragin' Cajuns went 20-13 in 2014, the first 20-win season since 1990, and appeared in the Sun Belt Tournament for the third straight season.
