Rock music and College Football can in some instances go hand in hand. The music, in many cases, is used to pump up the crowd before and during the game. In College Football Stadiums throughout the country on Saturday’s in the Fall you can hear Rock Anthems playing for miles. Athlon Sports recently took this idea to the next level and broke down the Top 25 teams in the country entering the 2015 season and looked at them if they were a Rock Band.

The Oregon Ducks come in at number eight on the list and David Bowie is the Rocker of Record for Eugene according to Athlon Sports,

"Flashy, experimental and big on wardrobe changes makes David Bowie a perfect fit in Eugene. Extremely well respected but a little weird and far-out most of the time and never won the national title of the music industry despite being somewhat ahead of his time. He’s been around a long time and loves to try new things and act a little crazy, earning critical acclaim in the process.Athlon Sports Look at the Top 25 as a Rock Band, What They Say About Oregon"

Honestly, it makes sense, but diehards who have been to Autzen Stadium for a rock concert, when they used to have them, may disagree and say U2 may be better fit. The Grateful Dead also performed at the Home of the Oregon Ducks, but could they be considered in the ‘Rock’ Category?

Other teams had pretty cool bands including Ohio State at number one  with The Black Keys. It is better than Florida State who was stuck with Justin Bieber. Arizona State(13) was compared to Daft Punk and the USC Trojans, ranked ahead of Oregon was tabbed with Led Zepplin. UCLA(23) and Stanford(24) round out the Top 25 as Neil Young and Coldplay respectively.

If the season did come down to the battle of the bands, Bowie should rock all season long, and probably be able to sustain better than Bieber. Oregon knows how to do things pretty well Under Pressure and in the end could have fans Dancing in the Streets with another National Championship Appearance.
