Xavian Stapleton has provided Louisiana Tech with a list of schools to be considered as part of his transfer after Tech originally placed a 55-school restriction on the former Bulldogs' guard.

Stapleton, who received his release June 17, sent Tech a written request last Friday with specific schools he's interested in attending.

The list of schools is unknown at this time. Tech can respond by modifying the restrictions or hold its stance on the matter.

As it stands now, Stapleton, a 6-foot-6 guard who averaged 6.7 points per game as a freshman, is barred from transferring to any school in Conference USA, on the 2015-16 schedule and in the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas, and the University of Florida, which amounted to 55 institutions spanning 12 states and nine different conferences.

The original list spawned from Stapleton's initial transfer request without any schools. In turn, Tech provided Stapleton with a generic release that it has used in the past, specifically with volleyball players.

Stapleton has a right to appeal, or in this case to ask for specific schools to be allowed.

Stapleton hasn't made any public comments since last week when he voiced his displeasure to The Jackson Clarion-Ledger about Tech's restrictions.
