This week, her attention turned toward the National Stage, which brought in a different level of athlete, including some of the best amateur and professional athletes. In the 200 meter final, Prandini not only took the National Title, but did it in record breaking fashion taking it in 22.20 seconds and breaking her own school record in the process. She did it at Hayward Field, with over ten thousand fans in the stands cheering for their hometown team.  With the win, she will head to China later this summer to represent her country in the World Meet. Prandini is just the second collegiate athlete ever to win the 200 meters at the US Track and Field Championships.

Tracktown USA is living up to it’s name as Oregon will send a total of eight athletes to Beijing. Among those joining Prandini are Marcus Chambers and Jasmine Todd. Freshman Raevyn Rogers and Blake Haney will also extend their respective seasons on the Junior circuit after a win in the 800 meters and head to the Pan American Games later this summer.
