The Oregon Ducks will not have to wait long to hear from five star recruit Jamal Murray. What is even more important is that Dana Altman may even have one of the best players in North America on the roster in time for the start of the 2015 season as Murray had decided to re-classify for the 2015 Recruiting Class. Word broke early on Sunday that Jamal Murray would decide, likely between two schools and do so this week according to OregonLive and Bob Rickert who says it is between Oregon and Kentucky, but he believes the Ducks have the edge.

Oregon’s coaching staff has relationships with coaches in the Ontario, Canada area where Murray currently resides. Canada has been a hotbed for Oregon in recent years and have brought in several talented players including Dillon Brooks, Richard Amardi,  Devoe Joseph and current member of the 2015 class Junior College Transfer Chris Boucher. If Murray decides to head to the great Northwest he would become the eighth prospect from Canada over the last few years and we can hope he would be as productive as the players he is following.

Last Wednesday, a member of the Oregon Ducks Basketball team, Elgin Cook tweeted a Welcome Message on Murray according to SBNation, calling him ‘the newest commit to the Duck family.’ Not sure if there is any truth to it, but it would be a huge get for the Ducks and a big blow to Kentucky.

247Sports lists Murray as the second best player out of Ontario and the twelfth best at the Shooting Guard position. Oregon is the only Pac-12 school he received an offer from and he is expected to make his decision between the Wildcats and Oregon Ducks.
