Jay Z's alleged lovechild has opened up about his frustration over the rapper's apparent reluctance to take a DNA test.

Rymir Satterthwaite, who was first linked to the hip hop star in 2010, filed a civil lawsuit against the 99 Problems hitmaker in December 2014 but is yet to receive a response.

Speaking to Radar Online, the 21-year-old aspiring rapper, who bears a striking resemblance to the music mogul, revealed he may not be in a position to pursue the civil action in the courts after running into financial hardship.

"There was a whole lot of running around," he told the publication. "We didn't have enough information to push the case, to keep the case going."

Satterthwaite went on to say he was not driven by financial gain but simply wanted a relationship with his father. His mother, who made the original claim, suffers from severe asthma and a weak heart, which is due to a genetic condition.

"It is important that I know who my biological father is because of my mom's health," he said. "In the future, you don't know what can happen."

Satterthwaite admitted his ongoing battle with Jay Z has left him drained and "mad".

"I get frustrated just like everybody else. I get mad at certain times," he said. "At the end of the day I still gotta work and bring income in for me. I just take one day at time and plan my life."

This is not the first time the 45-year-old rapper has found himself at the centre of lovechild allegations.

In 2011, allegations that the rapper had a child with Trinidad model Shenelle Scott surfaced, overshadowing wife Beyonce's announcement that she was pregnant with the couple's first child.

"Shenelle told me that Jay-Z gave her $1m to keep her mouth shut. My understanding is that he's paying her child support," a source told Star magazine at the time.

Jay Z, who has a daughter, Blue Ivy, with Beyonce has never publicly addressed the love child claims.
