SEEDY: Christopher Morris pleaded guilty to seven counts of voyeurism last year and has now been banned from teaching for life [GETTY]

Christopher Morris, 34, kept his sordid recordings hidden for nearly a decade before his ex-girlfriend discovered his shocking stash of VHS tapes.

He was studying astrophysics in Preston when he set up hidden cameras in a house in the city.

Between 2004 and 2009, Morris filmed women showering, changing and using the toilet.

His unsuspecting victims only found out they had been filmed when cops knocked on their doors in November 2013.

Morris was jailed for 18 months at Preston Crown Court in April last year after pleading guilty to seven counts of voyeurism.

And now he has also been struck off after a hearing before a professional conduct panel in Coventry.

JAILED: Preston Crown Court where Morris was sentenced to 18 months in prison in 2014 [GETTY]

The National College for Teaching and Leadership heard that the seedy contents of the tapes were only discovered when Morris' curious ex-girlfriend borrowed a VHS player from her mum.

She was horrified by what she saw.

At the time, Morris was a science teacher at Thomas Clarkson Academy, in Wisbeck, Cambridgeshire, teaching students aged 11 to 18.

The panel recommended that Morris should be banned from the profession for life on the back of his conviction.

Department for Education official Alan Meyrick said: "Mr Morris' actions were deliberate and he was not acting under duress.

"The panel consider that there is evidence of a deep seated attitude that could lead to harmful behaviour.

"Morris is prohibited from teaching indefinitely and cannot teach in any school, sixth form college, relevant youth accommodation or children's home in England."

He is also banned from applying to restore his eligibility to teach in the future.
