Extremely happy with Tamar! She is one of the best hairdressers ive ever met. Its hard to find a master who would feel the hair and the personality of the client so well as she does. She changed my hair from long to quite short and although i was afraid it wouldnt suit me it actually does suit me really well.

I came in after a really stressful day in work. From start to finish I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

The massaging chair and head massage when getting my hair washed was devine. I got amazing tips from my stylist Aoife who got my hair so silky smooth like I've never had before.

I've come out feeling like a million dollars and just loving my hair again.

Will definitely come back to get hair cut etc! Great location and space in salon in grafton street. No idea how big it is!

Slick hairdo thanks to Robert Chambers Hairdressing!!!

Really really happy with my hair after a little stint in the hot seat here. I'm veeery fussy with what I like at the best of times, and this time was even harder as I didn't reeeeally know what I was looking for. Nightmare client or what?!

So, Dermot sat me down and spent a good ten minutes going through options, colours, explaining (realistically) how different looks would come out in my hair, etc. He was very patient, and we finally whittled down to what it was I wanted (but didn't really realise)

The colour process overall took over two hours as it was all done to such precision. The proof is in the pudding and it turned out beautifully.

There was a lot of time spent on the blow dry at the end as well which held out for two days which was sweet.

Other than the hairdressing service itself, it's a great location, the reception staff were lovely, and it's a nice airy comfortable salon. Bonus points for the extra comfy recliner chairs at the sinks that massage you while you're getting washed. I normally absolutely hate getting my hair washed as I find the angles of the sinks so uncomfortable, but actually I was there for over 15 mins because of toning, deep conditioning etc, and I didn't mind in the slightest.

All round great service and one I'd definitely recommend.

The best hairdressers I've been at.

Both the customer service and overall experience is exceptional. The massage chairs while getting your hair washed is divine!

I am always so happy with my cut and highlights. I have complete trust and faith in all the hairdressers there. A1.

I recently had my hair cut by Dermot. I went in on a whim, didn't do any research as I have terrible hairdresser anxiety and didn't want to over think it.
They were able to fit me in on a weekday afternoon without appointment, which was nice.
I have an odd hairline and quite short hair, and have had many stylists in the past make an absolute ARSE of the back of my head (hence the anxiety)
Dermot spent a lot of time looking at my hair and asking questions about what I wanted, which was great, made me feel a lot more comfortable.
Another staff member then washed my hair, I didn't catch his name, but he was a sweetheart, really pleasant. They even asked questions about my hair to decide on which shampoo to use, so again, it was comforting to know that there was thought behind my treatment.
Dermot was fantastic, attentive and friendly, but was also comfortable with silence, which was great, as I can't bear the forced chit chat part of the haircut. He was careful and took his time to make sure my cut was perfect, explaining to me what he was doing.
I got the best haircut I've possibly ever had. Although my hair is probably barely an inch shorter, it's so well cut and shaped that it makes a MASSIVE difference.
It cost €85 for a wash and cut, which is a lot more than I'm used to paying, but was completely worth it. Dermot was a total professional, and cured my salon fear. Plus, my bitchin new haircut has put a pep in my step.

A few months ago, I went there thinking I booked a student, I obviously hadn't been clear enough and got a senior hairdresser guy, lovely chap...and had to pay 80€ for cut and blow dry which is a ridiculous money for me, considering how unadventurous or technical the cut was.
The pleasant chat and rapport I had with the hairdresser almost made up for the attitude of the receptionist (clearly making me feel like I don't deserve her attention and even asked me to pay while I was getting my hair blow-dried, with hair in the eyes and all having to key in my pin number ...never seen that in my life!) but there was no particular creative input into the design of the cut, it was plainly as I asked and didn't have the wow factor that I certainly got when paying the bill !

heard about this place from a friend who recommended it to me. its been around for years apparently. it was hard to find because it doesn't have a shopfront, you have to climb some stairs.
got highlights and a cut with a guy called dermot. really impressed with his attention to detail. i'm fussy about my highlights and the result was great though it did take a while. should have brought some nibbles. the cut has lasted as long as the highlights which has never happened before. highly recommended :)

I went to Robert Chambers two weekends ago while on a visit to Dublin and a friend recommended me to go Tamar Chambers.
I had a great experience and very different where I did not have to say what I want but chat for awhile and said what I like and how I am.
Then Tamar gave me a few suggestions I told her how I fight with the huge amount of her I have and how I would like to have my hair short but everytime someone cuts it is not manageable.
She did a great job explaining to me how to look after my hair how to brush it dry it style it and which products to use and before and after care.
I have listen and learn and I am the happiest I have ever been with my look and got loads of compliments at the office too! :)
Her brother Athos did my Colour and it is stunning really brought life to it again.
The salon was buzzing and had a great experience.
I will highly recommend everyone that is looking for a change to go here!
Gonna have to travell back and forth from Spain now! :) Thank you very much guys!

The staff at Robert Chambers salon are more than hairdressers, they are artists! Anytime I have gone in, whether it be for a complicated colour job or an up-do for a big night out I have left floating on air. Tamar and Athos are so passionate about their work. I love how collaborative they are too. I have found some hairdressers elsewhere can almost bully people into a style that they like at a particular time but at Robert Chambers, they always want to listen and collaborate. They are great at making suggestions without pushing them on you. The atmosphere in the salon is really relaxing too which I love. That might be something to do with the stunning bay windows and vaulted Georgian ceilings. It's gorgeous inside! But it's the skill of the staff that makes the salon really stand out. They are meticulous when it comes to colour work and they care as much about your end result as you do! I can't recommend them enough.

I have been a client of Tamar's in Lunatic Fringe for 10 years and followed her to Robert Chambers after a very negative experience with her replacement. Over the years I have had a varied experience with haircuts and have had to return for corrections, but in general the cuts have been fine even though service has been somewhat dismissive at times. My most recent experience in Robert Chambers has ended that relationship. A cut and semi took the guts of 4 hours and 160euro. The final result was very poor. The 'style' was very ugly and poorly finished - wrong length, shape, weight etc- with no consideration for my hair type. The colour was flat and dull and left my hair in poor condition. I contacted the salon, and was told that my problem seemed to be more related to their price increase. A response that I found insulting. At any price, I would appreciate a good quality cut and style. I am disappointed with service and product.

First time at Robert Chambers. Very relaxing atmosphere. Staff were very attentive and Tamar took the time to find out what I wanted, what I liked and didn't like. Looking forward to the next visit.
