WCWS: Oregon Ducks Season Comes To An End
The Oregon Ducks averaged over seven runs per game this season. However, the high scoring offense fell apart in Oklahoma City as Mike White saw his team plate just two runs in two losses and an early exit from the Women’s College World Series. Oregon Senior Janie Takeda did her best going two for three in the loss in the elimination game 2-1 on Saturday against Alabama.

The Oregon Ducks know how to play and play well, they have been here, in this spot three of the last four years, and they will get there again. On Saturday, Oregon Starter Cheridan Hawkins gave up just two runs in the game. She finished the season at 30-5 and gave up three hits while striking out seven on the Ducks season finale. On Offense, the Ducks loaded the bases in the fourth, but were unable to score any runs. One run was as close as they would get.
Even with the loss, Oregon will enter the offseason and start fresh in 2016 on a high note. With the return of Starter Cheridan Hawkins for her Senior Year, Oregon will look to again be dominant in the regular season. The team will also have a new home as Jane Sanders Stadium will replace Howe Field.
The future for the Oregon Ducks is bright and the experience of another trip to Oklahoma City will only give the team the hunger to get there again.
