Heavy rain associated with a strong storm is causing scattered street flooding in Monroe.

Police are barricading off North Third Street and Stubbs Avenue because of high water.

Union, Lincoln, Ouachita, Caldwell, Franklin and Jackson parishes are under a hazardous weather advisory today with scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms continuing to cross the region before tapering off late tonight.

Firefighters are responding to a house fire in the 6400 block of Cypress Point Drive. The house reportedly was struck by lightning.

Any storms will have the capability to produce strong and damaging wind gusts, large hail and very heavy rainfall.

Trees are reported down near the Union Parish line in western Ouachita Parish.
