The actress has been busy promoting the upcoming third season of Netflix's Orange Is the New Black, and on Wednesday, she shared a no-makeup selfie on Instagram. "Finally a few days to relax. I feel so privileged to be able to do work that I love and very privileged to be able to take time off occasionally. I take none of it lightly. Always good to have days with no makeup to let my skin [breathe]."
Cox included two hashtags: "#washfacenobase" and "#TransIsBeautiful."
Last year, Cox shared her beauty secrets with InStyle. "I try to keep it all really simple," she said. "Years ago, this queen I worked with suggested I wash my face with baby shampoo. I have been using it ever since. I love makeup and wear lots of it but always wash it off at the end of the day with baby shampoo."
That being said, Cox loves getting dolled up.
The Emmy-nominated star loves experimenting with her look. "I am obsessed with contouring. My makeup artist, Deja Davenport, contours my face with a cream stick. Before we powder. I have always contoured with powder. They are both valid techniques, but she is pushing me to try new things, which is great," she said. "I am also trying to learn her technique for applying lashes. I am good, but she gives me that Kevyn-Aucoin-arched-double-lash fantasy that's just ultra glam.
Cox added that she looks to Beyoncé for beauty inspiration.
"If pretty hurts she must be in a lot of pain," the 30-year-old actress joked.
Orange Is the New Black returns with 14 episodes starting June 12 on Netflix.
