Beluga Whales Spend Memorial Day in Huntington Harbor
The belugas were spotted swimming around several boats in Huntington Harbor on Monday.
Three beluga whales decided to make a pit stop in Huntington to celebrate Memorial Day.
While these whales are not native to the area, they are certainly not shy. The belugas were seen swimming around several boats in Huntington Harbor on Monday afternoon, according to the Town of Huntington.
It was a short visit for the three white wales, who have already moved on to their next destination, the Town reports.

Belugas are typically found only in Arctic and subarctic waters, but they occasionally travel south and have been known to show up in the Long Island Sound, according to the Alliance of Marine Mammal Parks & Aquariums.
Senior Bay Constable Jeffrey Kropp filmed a video of the whales in the water and the Town of Huntington shared it on their Facebook page.
