Harrison Ford has been on the mend since March 5, when he crashed a small, vintage World War II airplane near Santa Monica. He was "battered but OK" after the accident, according to son Ben Ford, and received treatment at a local hospital for undisclosed minor injuries.

Before the end of the month, though, the 72-year-old Star Wars hunk was spotted driving around the Pacific Palisades and even reportedly popped in for a visit at Steven Spielberg's house! And just last week, Calista Flockhart's hubby was photographed for the first time out and about in L.A., once again behind the wheel of a Tesla and looking no worse for the wear!

Phew! This hasn't been Ford's only scare in the past year, though. Last June he suffered an injury on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII. The actor reportedly broke his leg in an incident involving the Millennium Falcon, but thanks to a successful surgery and rehab stint, hue was able to recover swiftly from that incident as well.

So is Ford just a reckless kinda guy? Very doubtful. We can't speak to the Star Wars incident, but Steve Stafford, Ford's former flight instructor and film stunt pilot who has known the actor for 35 years, told E! News, "Harrison Ford is a professional pilot in every sense of the term. He is rated in turbo jets and helicopters and participates in factory simulator emergency training on a regular basis."

"He takes every flight he makes seriously, and I would trust him with my own family as his passengers today and in the future," added Stafford. "The fact that he was able to 'dead stick' the plane back to a survivable landing is a lasting testament to his piloting abilities and his coolness under pressure."
