Oregon Hosts NC State For Super Regional and Howe Field Finale

Coming off the sixth consecutive winning NCAA Regional Series, Oregon Ducks Head Coach Mike White will see the Oregon Ducks play host in a best of three series in the Super Regional round of the 2015 NCAA Tournament. Oregon took care of business going 3-0 against BYU, North Dakota State and Fresno State last weekend at Howe Field.

Oregon will again host this weekend with North Carolina State coming to town for the final weekend as the Ducks say goodbye to Howe Field to make way for Jane Sanders Stadium in 2016. NC State comes to Eugene with a 38-20 record. The Wolfpack are led by Starting Pitcher Emily Wyman. She enters the weekend with a 31-15 record. She has reached thirty wins for the last three seasons.

NC State has won thirteen of their last fourteen games entering the Super Regional with the Ducks. The Wolfpack have three players hitting over .300 this season with Renada Davis(.387), Tyler Ross(.313), and Hannah Yeager(.301). On the other side Oregon has three players hitting over .400 and nine players hitting over .300, including bench players. It is clear where the hitting battle lies, but this series will be about pitching.

Hawkins bested Wyman last season in a 5-0 win during the non-conference slate playing the Wolfpack in the Kajikawa Classic. In the game, Hawkins had ten strikeouts, Wyman had eleven with the loss. This season, the Oregon Ducks Starter is a finalist for Player of the Year and is coming off a weekend where the threw in two game wins and came in to close out the final game of the series following a stellar two hit outing by Karissa Hovinga.

The three games series start on Friday at 6pm, Game 2 is set for Saturday at Noon, followed by a Game 3, if necessary at 3pm. All three games will be broadcast on ESPNU.
