EVERETT — Everett fought back from a seven-run deficit in the first inning and escaped with the victory against Mountlake Terrace in a first round game of the District 1 3A Softball Tournament on Tuesday night.
Freshman catcher Rachel Christensen led the Seagulls offense going 2-for-3 with three RBI. Junior Sydney Taggart homered at the plate in addition to picking up the two inning save on the mound and freshman second baseman Megan Gordon doubled for Everett. Junior starter Erin Gordon picked up the win in the circle.
Mountlake Terrace senior second baseman Hannah Wilcox hit a three-run home run in the first inning, Sophomore utility player Kira Doan went 3-for-5, and sophomore Gabby Calhoun doubled for the Hawks.
