It is the final regular season series for Howe Field, as we currently know it, and the Oregon Softball team is making it count in the win column as the team pushes toward the post season. Following a Friday win against the Cal Bears, the Ducks hit five home runs in a run-ruled 9-0 win in front of a sellout crowd on Saturday extending their winning streak to thirteen games.

Hailey Decker got things started in the first with a two out, home run that gave Oregon and early 2-0 lead. Lauren Lindvall then hit the first pitch she saw in the third inning for a home run giving the Ducks a 3-0 lead. Nikki Udria continued the hit parade with the second home run in the inning to give Oregon a 5-0 lead and they never looked back. Geri Ann Glasco gave Starter Cheridan Hawkins a breather in Game 2 after Hawkins threw in all three games last weekend.

Glasco was outstanding and picked up the win. She also helped herself at the plate with a two run home run in the fourth putting Oregon up 8-0. Karissa Hovinga followed Glasco in the circle to close out the Bears in the second game of the series. The Ducks now look for the sweep on Sunday and win or lose will wrap up the Pac-12.

If the Ducks win they will maintain a one game lead over UCLA, currently in second. If they lose or tie, Oregon would still win the Pac-12 outright. Mike White saw his team win the series earlier this season against UCLA.

The final game in the series against UCLA is Sunday at Noon. Following the game, the Ducks will hit the road next weekend for the final regular season series of the year at Arizona.
