Bullpen is Key As Oregon Holds Off Washington In 4-3 Win
On Friday night the Ducks bullpen gave up six runs in a loss to the Washington Huskies. The talk all week was the strength of the team and the same bullpen. They responded on Saturday in Game 2 of the series, a 4-3 Oregon Ducks win. Starter Conner Harber battled to start. He hit a batter and walked a batter to start the third inning, but his teammates would respond on Offense.

In the fourth inning, Oregon took a 4-2 lead with patience. Mitchell Tolman started with a one out walk, Phil Craig-St Louis had a triple scoring Tolman when a right field hit found it’s way past the Washington Outfielder. Cooper Stiles came in to throw four innings of scoreless relief helping to seal the series tying win for Oregon. Closer Garrett Cleavinger came in and gave up a home run, but earned his sixth save of the season.
The Oregon Ducks are now 7-7 in the month of April and will look to win their second Pac-12 Conference series of the month and work on some winning momentum. Oregon will also welcome back Head Coach George Horton to the dugout after a two game suspension following last weekend’s game against USC.
Oregon and Washington meet today at PK Park at 2pm Pacific Time on Pac-12 Networks.
