Oregon Softball Set To Host Top 10 Offensive Power Louisiana-Lafayette

The Oregon Ducks Softball team has won ten straight games and will have an non-conference home series with Louisiana-Lafayette this weekend at Howe Field. The three game series will begin on Friday and conclude with a double header on Saturday. Inclimate weather is expected on Sunday.

The Ducks are coming off a three game road sweep of Stanford last weekend. Louisana-Lafayette has won nine straight games and had several series cancelled due to the weather. The Ragin’ Cajuns come in as one of the few teams that can match the Offensive firepower of the Oregon Ducks and are coming into Eugene after their two higest scoring games of the season against Appalachian State, 21-5 and 23-6 respectively.

Louisiana is 5-3 against ranked opponents this season. Oregon is 11-5 against ranked foes in 2015. The Ducks are also hitting an offensive high note with Outfielder Janie Takeda.

Against Stanford, Takeda tied two key records in steals and hits in an Oregon uniform and will look to make her own history this weekend against Louisiana-Lafeyette. The matchup will pit the fifth best offense in the nation in Oregon against the sixth best in Louisiana-Lafayette. The Ducks are hitting .362 as a team, the Ragin’ Cajuns just behind at .356

Opponents are hitting at just .133 against the Ducks Cheridan Hawkins. Against Louisiana-Lafayette opponents are hitting at a .171 clip this season.

The three games series begins on Friday at 4pm with a double header set for Saturday. The first game Saturday will begin at noon followed by a thirty minute break between games. There is no television for the series, but it will be available on the Pac-12 Live Stream.
