Allyson:

A beautiful celebration was held on a perfect (non-humid) afternoon at the lovely bayou home of

Charles Marsala

and I were overjoyed with the weather. I know I've been channeling a meteorologist, but between my pollen allergies and the frozen tundra, I am appreciating the rarity of a nice sunny day.

In the convivial mix we saw Representative Jay and Emily Morris, Ashley Morris in a stunning red dress, Raymond Morris, Katie May, Lauren Wall, Mandy Pruitt, Damon and Amy Marsala, Harris Brown, Debora and Todd Colvin, one of my faves Glenn Robinson, Judge Scott and Charlynn Leehy, Dianne Cage, Tana Trichel, Jeanne and Steve Taylor, Dr. Larry Danna, Diana and Sheriff Jay Russell, Dr. Zeke Wetzel, Amanda and George Dean, Randy Denmon, the always glamorous Claudia and handsome Jimmy Woods, Brooks Watson, Stephanie and Dr. Timmy Mickel, Fred Scott and Linda Franklin, Stewart Gentry, Rep. Jim Fannin, Kay Shipp, Vickie and Bill Krutzer, Leesa and David McMillin, Karen and Mike Mulhearn, James and Lynn Moore, Felicia and Sen. Bob Kostelka, Wendy and Dr.Mark Napoli, Morris Mintz, John Bruscato, Jan and David Nelson, Bernard and Angie Sager, George Cummings, Harlan and Dawn Sager, Frank Spooner, Carolyn Myrick, Raymond and Margaret Horne, Jerome and Nancy Vascocu,we loved visiting with Tom and Mary Sanders, David and Bridget Hampton, Merion and Dr.Matt Sanderson, Susan and Tommy Sparks, and Michelle Lancaster and Mark Turrentine.

After the Marsalas, we decided to head out for a quick bite at Genusa's. It was a great night to go as there was a wine representative going from table to table giving out samples of delicious wine. We probably partook of more than our fair share of her time, as you most likely guessed, but we did ask lots of semi-intelligent questions of the pro and, though having little to no choice in the matter, she did seem to truly enjoy our company. Others out celebrating a night on the town included the fabulous Amy Norris, Gretchen Dean, Charlotte Breard, Lynda Gavioli, and Chap and Ann Breard.

This year's Wine over Water at ULM was moved from the campus bridge to inside the Fant-Ewing Coliseum due to April showers; however, this did nothing to dampen the spirit of the event. Those braving the weather were Tyler and Becky Flemister, George and Nan Cummings, Rep. Jay and Emily Morris, David and Bridget Hampton, Terri and Roy Arthur, Therese and Sammy Nagem, Todd and Deborah Colvin, Jim and Nelsie Bershen, Chris and Andi Holyfield, Cindy Stone, Sue and Tom Nicholson, President of ULM Dr. Nick Bruno and his wife, Linda along with hundreds more who enjoyed the bash.

The North Delta Ramble created and hosted by Alan and Caroline Brockman was recently held at the Brockman Family Barn. It was TOTALLY sold out. The ultimate sign of success before it even began.

The Ramble, apparently publicized by a marketing genius, included plenty of delectable treats, unique art and lively music. The story of the festival and its origins was featured in a PBS documentary highlighting our area and culture, letting the public know there is more to Louisiana than Bourbon Street, not that there's anything wrong with that either.

Cormier's provided an outstanding feast, all night dancin' music by Rosco Bandana rocked the party, and a showcase of unique art featuring pieces by Monroe native Emory Nolan was on display. Beverages (to keep the crowd hydrated — you know how important hydration is!) were graciously donated by Marsala Beverage and Choice Brands. I would tell you who was there, but it would be quicker and take less ink to tell you who wasn't. And that would be no one — it was completely jam packed. Bottom line and moral of the party: get your tickets early for next time. I have a feeling this is going to get bigger and bigger.

Apparently there is nothing that cannot happen today. ~ Mark Twain
