The Oregon Ducks opened a three game series on the road against the USC Trojans and looked to build on their momentum from last week when they took two of three from Oregon State in the Civil War, and the game started out well for George Horton and the team, but in the end the bullpen failed and the Ducks fell to USC in game one.

Oregon had four runs in the first inning as Matt Eureste started the on-base parade, but the Trojans had other ideas. USC had rallies of their own including a three run surge in the first, followed by five in the fourth and seventh inning respectively for a 13-5 win over the Oregon Ducks. The Trojans are one of the top teams in the Pac-12 this season and now have a 9-4 mark in the Pac-12 Conference. The loss drops Oregon to 4-9 and to win the series the Ducks need the next two games.

USC cranked out twelve his doubling up the Ducks with six for the game. Oregon Starter Cole Irvin lasted just three and two thirds innings giving up eight runs on six hits. The bullpen was unable to give the Offense much of a chance giving up five additional runs, the Ducks middle relievers did manage to strike out two Trojans, the only two of the game for Oregon pitching.

Oregon and USC will play Game 2 Saturday at 2pm Pacific Time, Game 3 is set for Sunday at 1pm Pacific.
