The WD Elements portable drive is a great deal
[MUSIC]
Hey guys.
[INAUDIBLE] here, and this is the WD Elements portable drive.
Now, this is another typical portable drive on the market.
Another, because just the other day, I talked about this Seagate expansion drive, and the two of them are very, very similar.
They both offer up to two terabytes of storage space.
Both are easy to use, compact, and both offer nothing else but just the storage space.
Most importantly, they are both very inexpensive.
In fact, the WD here is a bit cheaper, costing just $85 for two terabytes.
You can also get the one terrabyte or 500 gig.
Much as $55 and $50, respectively.
I mean, testing the W here is a bit slower, averaging some 100Mbps via USB 3.0.
That's still quite fast.
And the drive.
It also works with E-S-P 2.0.
Now, this one is a [INAUDIBLE] drive that offers no extra features, such as a query.
And that means, you don't want to, either to store important or sensitive information, in case you lose it.
But that also means it can work virtually anywhere, from computers, to game consoles, to routers.
To any other type of posts.
I tried my Xbox One, and it worked really well.
I can use it to store apps, games, and media for playback.
In fact it worked so well my skill of Dance Central improved a great deal.
Just kidding.
I suck at it.
The drive's also very easy to use.
Just connect it through this USB port right here using this included foot-long cable to a host, and you are basically done.
For Window computers, the drive also includes the WD Smartware Pro for backup, but only the 30 day trial version of it.
But overall, thanks to the high capacity.
and especially the low cost.
This is still one of the best deals on the market.
For more on this drive, check out my full review at cnet.com and if you're wondering which one to get, this elements drive or the expansion, well, the difference between the two of them is very minor.
Just like between bravery and courage.
That means you should have them both.
Which I do all the time, 24 hours a day, and that's because [UNKNOWN] this has been the first look at the [UNKNOWN] Element portable drive.
