Oregon Ducks Softball Hits the Road for Series at Stanford

After sweeping Arizona State at Howe Field last weekend the Oregon Softball team returned to the number one spot in the rankings and return to the road this weekend to take on Stanford in Palo Alto. The Cardinal started the Pac-12 season 1-3 and have since lost seven straight Conference games. This included sweeps by Washington and UCLA. Stanford is hitting at a team at .288 this season with a rather high ERA against them over six at 6.47.

Oregon has relied on Starting Pitcher Cheridan Hawkins who has been solid all season. She has had a few stumbling blocks this season, in her three losses, most recently on the road against UCLA two weeks ago, but at home has been a key to the Oregon Ducks number one ranking this season along with an offense hitting .363 and scoring over three-hundred runs this season. Hawkins currently has an ERA at 1.11 on the season after starting the season with an ERA entering Pac-12 play that was well under 1 at 0.32

The Ducks enter the three games series with weekend with two players on the roster named Players of the Week multiple times this season in Hawkins and Janelle Lindvall. The series will have some national attention as a result with Saturday’s opener on Pac-12 Network(3:30pm PT) Sunday’s Noon start on ESPN, and the Sunday finale on Pac-12 Network at 7pm Pacific Time.
