Mondello Park host season's busiest Car Race event

Irish Car Racing season continues with an IMRC-run 15 race programme on Sun. Apr. 19th.

So busy is the event that some qualifying sessions will have to be run on Saturday evening to enable all of the required races to fit into Sunday's timetable.

Headlining the event will be the most popular race series currently running in Ireland, the 'Mick's Garage' Irish Touring Car Championship. The already popular championship has been further boosted this season by the introduction of a one-make sub class, for Seat Leon Supercopa cars, and this has added some variety to the grids and spiced up the action. The ITCC cars will have two races on Sunday with the second featuring the front six grid placings being reversed.

Alongside the ITCC the event will have a strong Saloon and Sportscar element, with stand alone races for the 'Blackchurch Motors' Fiestas, HRCA Historics and Future Classics, and double headers for Global Lights and the 'Baker Automotive' Stryker Championship. Single seater racing fans will also be well catered for with Formula Ford, Formula Sheane, Formula Vee and the 'DALCO' BOSS Ireland championship all scheduled to race twice.

The majority of Sunday's races will be shown live on Mondello.TV and with live timing available on the mondello.ie web site and a strong social media presence, the event will be easier than ever to follow for those who can't make it to the track.

Admission to Sunday's event is €12.50 for adults with under 16's admitted FOC. Fans can follow the event on facebook and twitter using #mondellopark or watch the action unfold by going to mondello.tv/live.
