Terrence Williams has been not really contributing much and not bothering to show up on time to team shootarounds and practices for the Nets — so now he’ll get the chance to do that in the D-League for a while, according to the Bergen Record.
The Nets had suspended Williams for two games and he was due to come off that suspension, but instead he is headed to the Springfield Armor. Consider it punishment or sending a message, however you wish to define it.“After discussing the situation with Avery over the last several days, I feel the best course of action for Terrence and the team at this time is for him to play in the D-League,” (Nets GM Billy) King said in a statement.
“He is currently on the inactive list and this move will allow him to play until he is once again placed on the active list. There is no timetable on his return to the active list, and Terrence’s future status will be addressed at the appropriate time.”Williams was the No. 11 overall pick in 2009. He missed five games this season with a strained abdominal muscle and played limited minutes (eight) in the one game since he returned before he was suspended.
