The deal commits Carillion and the University of Wolverhampton to working together. They will cooperate on: identifying projects for which joint tenders, bids or grants can be made; internships and placements for students; consultancy and continuous professional development activities; and corporate social responsibility activities.

Carillion Construction Services managing director Adam Green said: “The signing of the memorandum of understanding is a significant step in re-establishing links between the University of Wolverhampton and Carillion and developing a longer term partnership between the organisations.

“As neighbours and as two of the largest employers in Wolverhampton and the wider Black Country, this collaboration will not only benefit both parties but also the wider community in which we work and live, and will support the aspirations of the city in terms of strategic regeneration and investment.”

University vice-chancellor Geoff Layer said: “We’re particularly pleased it provides our students with access to quality industrial experience through internships and placements, helping them gain valuable employability skills.”
