Local yobs banned from Ashmore Park for two years

Three yobs who ran riot in Ashmore Park, Wednesfield earlier this year have banned from the area for two years after local traders and residents made a stand against them.

Three yobs who ran riot in Ashmore Park, Wednesfield earlier this year have banned from the area for two years after local traders and residents made a stand against them.

Jack Harriman, Daniel Westwood and a third youth who cannot be named made life a misery for shopkeepers and residents in Ashmore Park, causing a mini crime wave which initially caught local Police unprepared.

The three made threats, shouted abuse at pensioners and threw missiles at residents and buses.

Local shopkeepers and residents signed a petition and sent copies to the police, city council and other agencies identifying the youths and demanded action be taken against them.

At Wolverhampton Magistrates Court yesterday, Harriman, aged 15, of Reynolds Walk, Ashmore Park, and a 15-year-old from Dudley were given anti-social behaviour orders lasting for two years.

Westwood, 16, of Festival Way, Whitmore Reans, was given the same order at an earlier hearing.

The order bans them from going near the shops in Griffiths Drive or associating with each other anywhere in Wolverhampton.

Should you witness this ban being broken, please call Wednesfield Police Station on 0345 113 5000.

A personal note from WV11: Having witnessed these yobs and their destructive behaviour first hand, we’d like to say a special thanks to the Wednesfield North Police team for all their hard work in ensuring these youths were banned from what is normally a quiet and peaceful neighbourhood.
