Tebow’s Taunting Fuels Foundations Tournament

Ponte Vedra, FL- It was a weekend full of laughs, hugs, memories and quite a bit of trash talk to balance everything out.

The 5th Annual Tim Tebow Foundation Celebrity Gala and Golf Classic saw the former Florida Gators National Championship quarterback and Heisman winner bring together some of his closest friends…those closest friends just happen to be professional athletes, Gator legends, musicians and celebrity chefs to name a few.

GatorCountry was there for the entire weekend and was able to catch up with Tebow and many of his guest. We found out about their passion behind supporting this charity, and of course, who they were gunning for on the golf course.

To help you wander thru it all, we’ve broken up the weekend below into different videos. So buckle up and let’s take a trip through the Tebow Foundation Celebrity Gala and Golf Classic.

GatorCountry was there for the first stop along the red carpet on Friday night. Tebow and his friends kicked things off for us as we took a accelerated look at the guest list.

The ultimate purpose for everyone’s presence was to support the Tim Tebow Foundation, who’s mission is to “bring faith, hope and love to those needing a brighter day in their darkest hour of need.”

Through the foundation, Tebow and his staff are able to add “Timmy’s Playroom”s to hospitals across the country, support Orphan Care, build a hospital in the Philippines and put on “Night to Shine” proms all over America just to name a few.

With the opportunity to be apart of such a special cause, celebrities flocked to north Florida for the weekend. Watch below to hear many expounded on their easy decision to attend and why the event was so dear to their hearts.

But as Billy Horschel (current FedExCup Champion) made sure to point out, there was a “little bit” of golf involved.

Saturday was spent on the course, where former Florida Gators National Championship QB and Heisman winner Danny Wuerffel took home the coveted trophy.

In the hours leading up to tee off, a majority of the guest admitted to GatorCountry that their competitive juices were starting to flow. And after a week of taunting from Tebow, they were rearing to go. Because the weekend was all about the kids…but beating Timmy was going to be just as sweet.

For an extended look at the weekend, check out what Tebow and his friends had to say about having a room full of Gator legacies together (along with some rivals), their plan on the golf course and just how much Tim Tebow’s trash talk had really gotten to everyone.

If you’d like an extra nugget of fun, check out this short video with Tebow and his SEC Nation co-star Marcus Spears, explaining just how exactly their show works.
