CHENNAI (14 Mar 2015) :
The SSC-99 and SSC(W)-13 Course comprising of as many as 204 men and 42 lady cadets marched onto the Parameshwaran drill square on the Officers Training Academy (OTA) campus on Saturday morning, marking their official induction into the Army, it was a proud moment for their family and friends seated in the gallery.
The parade was reviewed. In his address the general officer reminded the cadets of enormous responsibilities they are expected to shoulder while commanding the troops. He lauded the cadets for their excellent efforts to make the parade absolutely impressive and magnificent. He also exhorted them to dedicate themselves with utmost sincerity and devotion to uphold the honour, safety and integrity of the country.
The cadets marched into the ground a few minutes after 6 am in a formation of four different companies of the academy. Major general G Murali, deputy commandant and chief instructor of OTA, took the salute from the cadets followed by Lt General SS Jog, commandant, OTA.
