Women’s Workshop, Youth Explosion

Bayou Macon, Boeuf River and Ouachita Association Annual Women’s Workshop and Youth Explosion is March 13-14 at Bethel Baptist Church, 200 South 22nd St., Monroe.

Youth registration 5:30 p.m. March 13.

The women’s theme is “Challenge for Excellence” from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. March 14. Seminar presenter is Robby D. Williams, president United Theological Seminary & Bible College in Monroe. Seminar colors are black and green.

The moderator is Rev. Clarence R. Jackson, women’s ministry director is Rosie Horne and Bethel pastor is Rev. Rueben Oliver Sr.

VBS 2015 Showcase

Faith United Methodist Church hosts Cokesbury’s VBS 2015 Showcase from 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday.

All churches interested in vacation Bible school material are welcome. Discounts will be available.

The church is at 3510 Arkansas Road, West Monroe, 396-0326.

The Calling outdoor worship March 14

The Calling ministry team second outdoor worship event is 7 p.m. March 14 at 109 Louisiana 17 in Delhi. The event is free and the public is invited. Free parking. Contact Holly Savage at holly_savage@outlook.com.

Community Prayer Breakfast March 19

A Community Prayer Breakfast will be at the fellowship hall of Farmerville United Methodist Church, 7 a.m. March 19. All area Christians invited to come pray together for the world and to share a meal.

Coffee ready at 6:45 a.m. and the event ends by 8 a.m. The church is located at 301 Anthony St., across the street from Union Parish High School. For information, call the church, 368-3840.

North La. choir competition

“Making a Joyful Noise Unto the Lord” Northern Louisiana Gospel Choir Competition is May 9, Willie Davis Jr. Recreation Center in Farmerville. Choirs from Union, Lincoln, Morehouse, Jackson and Ouachita parishes, and Southern Arkansas are invited to compete.

Choirs are required to submit an entry form and a non-refundable $25 registration fee.
