During the previous Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, more than half of the new products were related to health. More and more big companies are becoming aware of the worth of our most important asset and the associated data.

 During recent years we have paid a lot of attention, within the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing, to the barriers that block promising innovations in healthcare from becoming large-scale applications. The EU and key partners held a high-level international conference on Ebola on 3 March 2015 to take stock of the current fight against Ebola and coordinate further action.

Thanks to EU funding from the Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme, the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research has announced encouraging evidence that the antiviral drug favipiravir might be an effective treatment against early Ebola disease.
