It’s the tale as old as time: Girl meets boy, boy just happens to be a handsome prince trapped in the body of a beast, girl falls in love with the person on the inside and magically reverses the curse. OK, OK...maybe that’s the plotline of Disney’s animated classic Beauty and the Beast, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t wish that such a romantic story would happen in real life too, right?

Thankfully we don’t have to wait long for the film’s forthcoming live-action musical makeover. Producers already chose the gorgeous and oh-so-talented Emma Watson as Belle, and ever since we got the news, we’ve been waiting with bated breath to find out who would win the coveted role of Beast. Well, today is that day.

Drumroll, please... The lucky guy is British heartthrob Dan Stevens, who you may recognize from his appearances on Downton Abbey and in last year’s thriller, The Guest. Sure, he’s not as famous as some of the other names that were rumored to have been considered, but just try and tell us he doesn’t have all the makings of one seriously handsome prince/furry beast.

The London-native revealed the news in a very sneaky way several hours ago by posting this not-so-cryptic message to Instagram. Beast mode, indeed.

Also, added bonus! Looks like they found a Gaston, too... The Hobbit’s Luke Evans, who can sing. Really, really well.
