One of the victims of a double-shooting in Swartz on Friday is the son of Monroe City Councilman Kenny Wilson.

Wilson asked for prayers for his son, Kenneth, in an official release from the city council office. He said his son is in stable condition and is improving daily.

Ouachita Parish sheriff's authorities arrested Ivory Mack, 41, near Richland Parish in connection to the shooting. He was booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center on two counts of attempted second-degree murder.

Louisiana State Police and the Richland Parish Sheriff's Office assisted in the arrest.

OPSO spokesman Glenn Springfield said the Sheriff's Office received reports of a shooting after 8 a.m. Friday with two victims needing medical attention.

Upon arrival at the scene, deputies found two victims with gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to a Shreveport hospital for treatment of their injuries. Both are listed in serious condition.

The shooting occurred in the 1100 block of Swartz-Fairbanks Road about two miles north of Louisiana 139.

Investigation at the scene revealed the shooting was reportedly committed by Mack, who left the area immediately following the incident.

A description of the suspect and his vehicle was obtained and distributed to area law enforcement personnel.

He was arrested without incident.

The second victim has not been identified.
