Oregon Ducks Take On ‘Road Warrior’ Mentality Against Oregon State

The Oregon Ducks are building momentum toward an NCAA Tournament Appearance in 2015. Oregon has win eight of their last nine games, including games against Cal and Stanford on the road which they have not done since 1976. Dana Altman has seen his team through some low points this season including two losses to Arizona, but now his team looks like they have put all the pieces together at the right time.

ESPN Bracketology Expert Joe Lunardi a few weeks ago had the Ducks on the outside looking in, but now they are in the field after two back to back wins on the road. He sees them as a ten seed at the moment facing Michigan State, a seven in the first round in Omaha. Of course that outlook can change with a win on Wednesday at Oregon State and a run in the Pac-12 Tournament next weekend.

Oregon has won twenty games for the fifth consecutive season and they will look to tack on another win in a Civil War matchup to close out the regular season this week at Oregon State. The Beavers, who just a few weeks ago looked primed for an NCAA run themselves have fallen back to earth losing five of their last six games.

The Ducks can finish no lower than third in the Pac-12 Conference, but have a chance at 2nd place depending on how well Utah plays this weekend. They have already secured a first round by in the Pac-12 Tournament with the win at Stanford last week. A win against Oregon State on the road would further solidify the road warrior mentality the team has had to take on over the last two weeks and add more momentum moving forward to Las Vegas and the Pac-12 Tournament.

Oregon and Oregon State tipoff on Wednesday night for the three-hundred and forty fourth time at 8pm Pacific Time. The game will be broadcast on ESPNU.
