In Full Bloom

CherryBlossomsThat magic moment when the cherry trees are in full bloom is notoriously brief. Of course, cherry trees don’t mind. The moment of flowering is only an invitation to the bees to set in motion the much slower and less glamorous process of setting fruit.

What fruits of your labors are you looking forward to down the line?

  1. I like to think that results in my life are of two kinds: one, the short term kind in which you almost spontaneously say something and there is an immediate response….a thank you, with a surprise in his/her voice. The other kind of fruits of my “labor” are the continual kind: for me, one that comes to mind is the periodic planning and execution of the art displays at the fellowship. We are two co-chairs and usually cooperate well. We try to fill the walls of our small building with original or provocative, slogan type or seasonal or social action oriented displays. We wish we had members and friends who feel like displaying original work but alas and alack, there are few, if any. However, we insist that there should be adornment or message laden displays of some kind and when it works, the satisfaction of the two of us (and comments by others) buoy us to feel that our labor has not been in vain.
